Napoleon Harris
was raised in a single parent household after the death of
his father. Mrs. Brenda Harris raised her children on her
own, and instilled in them a positive work ethic and strong
desire for education. Through the support and encouragement
of his mother, Napoleon excelled in academics and attended
Northwestern University, where he received his undergraduate
degree in Communications. Napoleon was drafted in the 1st
Round (23rd pick) of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Oakland
Raiders, and became only the second linebacker selected in
the first round in Raider team history. Keeping academia at
the forefront of his life, Napoleon attended the Kellogg
School of Management and received a certificate in their
Executive Program. It is important to Napoleon to give back
to his community in a tangible way, and impact the lives of
students with whom he can identify.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see more students from under privilege
families pursue higher education by attending college and to
provide programs to help the economical, social and physical
needs of children and families.
"I have achieved so much in my
life both on and off the field. However, it is my ambition
for this foundation to reach the children that need it the
most and have the least amount of access to obtain
scholarship assistance. I do believe that charity begins at
home. My goal is to raise funds, in order to help in the
educational development of young adults and support other
viable causes. As the Napoleon Harris Foundation continues
to grow, I am prepared to branch out further into the
community to help more students with the help of gracious
sponsors and supporters like you."
